When booking an appointment, it's ok if you're contemplating a few treatment options. Your intake and assessment will determine how we proceed with each session. EVERY treatment experience is unique and fully customized to you, as we strive to help you improve your body's self-healing capabilities.
We recommend coming to your appointment dressed in clothes you can comfortably move in (or bring them with you). At the least we might assess mobility and/or range of motion prior to a traditionally draped session, at most undressing won't be required at all. Either way, it is most helpful to wear attire you aren't encumbered by.
In the state of Ohio, health insurance does not cover massage therapy. That said, most people who have a FSA or HSA account can use this towards their sessions. Reach out to your HR department or your medical insurance carrier and ask if massage therapy is considered a covered treatment. They may have you obtain a prescription from your doctor.
When asking your doctor for a prescription, be specific with your symptoms or the type of treatment you're looking for. There are a wide variety of mental and physical conditions that could qualify for massage therapy, including but not limited to stress-related symptoms, circulation issues, sciatica, arthritis, tinnitus, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression and chronic back pain.
