When booking an appointment, it's ok if you're contemplating a few treatment options. Your intake and assessment will determine how we proceed with each session. EVERY treatment experience is unique and fully customized to you, as we strive to help you improve your body's self-healing capabilities.
We recommend coming to your appointment dressed in clothes you can comfortably move in (or bring them with you). At the least we might assess mobility and/or range of motion prior to a traditionally draped session, at most undressing won't be required at all. Either way, it is most helpful to wear attire you aren't encumbered by.
In the state of Ohio, health insurance does not cover massage therapy. That said, did you know that many Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow funds to be used for massage? If your provider approves, you may be able to use these pre-tax dollars to cover your sessions. Be sure to check with your plan administrator for specific requirements.
Ohio law requires massage therapists to collect sales tax. However, it is possible to obtain an exemption from sales tax if massage therapy is prescribed by a physician. Please provide us with a prescription from your health care provider, stating that massage therapy is indicated in your case for medical/health reasons. We will need to keep this statement in our files and may request yearly updates as needed.
